NGC_2264.jpg
NGC 2264863 viewsNGC 2264, consist of two deep sky objects, the Cone Nebula and the Christmas Tree Cluster. Both located in the constellation of Monoceros. The star cluster is call the Christmas Tree while the Cone Nebula gets its name from the cone shape visible in photos. The cone nebula is a dark absorption nebula consisting of cold molecular hydrogen and dust in front of an emission nebula. The photo consist of 3.5 hours of exposure using Canon 60Da, Celestron C8, and a CGEM mount. Taken Christmas day 2013.
Rosette_Nebula.jpg
Rosette Nebula679 viewsThe Rosette nebula is large nebula that resembles a a flower. The open cluster in its center, NGC 2244, consist of stars that formed from the nebula's material. The photo consist of 8 X 3 minutes photos and 5 X 5 minutes photos utilizing a Canon 60Da on and Orion 80mm refractor. Images were stacked in Nebulosity with levels and curves adjusted with Photoshop CS6.
California_Nebula.jpg
California Nebula778 viewsThe California Nebula is an emission nebula which resembles the state of California. It is located in the constellation of Perseus. The photo consist of 12 5minutes photos utilizing a Canon 60Da on an Orion 80mm refractor. Images were stacked in Nebulosity with levels and curves adjusted with Photoshop CS6.
Crescent_nebula-1.jpg
Crescent Nebula819 viewsThe Crescent Nebula is an emission nebula in the constellation of Cygnus. It is also know as NGC 6888. The photo consist of 30 x 3 minute photos utilizing a Canon 60Da on a Celestron 8" Newtonian taken on 27 and 31 Oct. Images were stacked in Nebulosity with levels and curves adjusted with Photoshop CS6.
Heart_Nebula_(IC1805).jpg
Heart Nebula (IC 1805)847 viewsThe Heart nebula (IC1805), an emission nebula is located in the Perseus arm of our galaxy. The nebula spans around 4 times the diameter of the full moon. It is estimated to be 7,500 light-years away from our planet. This photo consist of 3 hours of exposure (3 and 5 min exposures) taken with a Canon 60Da thru an Orion 80mm telescope on a Celestron CG-5. Images were stacked with Nebulosity and processed with PhotoShop CS6.
NGC_2359_(Thor_s_Helmet).jpg
NGC 2359 (Thor's Helmet895 viewsThor’s Helmet (NGC 2359) located 15,000 light years away in the constellation of Canis Major is an emission nebula. The helmet is like an interstellar bubble, blown as a fast wind from the star near the bubble's center sweeps through a surrounding molecular cloud. The photo consist of 3.5 hours of exposure using a Canon 60Da camera at ISO3200 connected to a TPO 8” astrograph (at f/6) mounted on a Celestron CGEM mount. It needs more data, but this was a test run for the TPO astrograph.

NGC_6559_post.jpg
NGC 6559902 viewsNGC 6559 is an active star forming region in the constellation of Sagittarius. This nebulosity contains emission (red), reflection (blue), and dust lanes (black) regions. This photo is a combination of 240minutes of exposure with a Canon 60Da, Badder UHC-S filter, connected to a TPO RC telescope on a Celestron CGEM mount.
NGC6960_(Witch_s_Broom).jpg
NGC 6960 (Witch's Broom)834 viewsNGC 6960 also known as the Witch’s Broom is the western part of the Veil Nebula a super nova remnant located in the constellation of Cygnus. This image consist of 34 X 300sec exposures with a Canon 60Da connected to an Orion 80mm refractor mounted on a Celestron CG-5. Stacked with Nebulosity 3.0 and processed with PhotoShop CS6
Milky_Way_Over_El_Paso_from_Oliver_Lee_State_Park_NM.jpg
The Miky Way Galaxy849 viewsThis shot of the Milky Way was taken from Oliver Lee State Memorial Park on Aug 31, 2014. The glow towards the bottom is the light pollution from El Paso, Tx and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Taken with a Canon 60D at 18mm f3.5 on a Vixen Polarie star tracker.
Elephant_Trunk_Nebula_(IC1396).jpg
Elephant's Trunk Nebula773 viewsThe Elephant’s Trunk nebula is a concentration of gas and dust located in the constellation of Cepheus around 2,400 light years from Earth. The nebula is part of the larger region known as IC 1396. This image consist of 5 hours of imaging with a Canon 60Da connected to an Orion 80mm refractor mounted on a Celestron CGEM. Stacked with Nebulosity 3.0 and processed with PhotoShop CS6
Andromeda.jpg
Andromeda Galaxy860 viewsThe Andromeda Galaxy (M31) located around 2.5 million light years from Earth is estimated to be the largest galaxy of our local group. This photo also shows Andromeda’s satellite galaxies M32 (NGC 221), left center, and M110 (NGC 205) to the lower right. This image consist of 4 hours of imaging with a Canon 60Da connected to an Orion 80mm refractor mounted on a Celestron CGEM. Stacked with Nebulosity 3.0 and processed with PhotoShop CS6
