NGC 2264
NGC 2264, consist of two deep sky objects, the Cone Nebula and the Christmas Tree Cluster. Both located in the constellation of Monoceros. The star cluster is call the Christmas Tree while the Cone Nebula gets its name from the cone shape visible in photos. The cone nebula is a dark absorption nebula consisting of cold molecular hydrogen and dust in front of an emission nebula. The photo consist of 3.5 hours of exposure using Canon 60Da, Celestron C8, and a CGEM mount. Taken Christmas day 2013.
